Google's AI Mode Can Now Book Your Hotel. It Still Can't Watch the Price.

Google's AI Mode Can Now Book Your Hotel. It Still Can't Watch the Price.
Google just added hotel booking directly inside AI Mode in Search. A traveler can now describe a trip in plain language, compare hotels side by side, pick a room, and pay with Google Pay, all in one conversation.

Ten travel partners are already plugged in: Choice Hotels, Hilton, Wyndham, IHG, and Marriott on the hotel side, plus Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline, and Trip.com on the booking side.

The same update added flight price tracking and price alerts inside AI Mode. From how it's described, that looks like sourcing live price data while you're actively searching and comparing, not standing monitoring of a trip you've already booked. Once you check out, the tracking stops.

That's true for the hotel side too. The booking gets easier every year. What happens to the price after check-in is booked stays untouched, no built-in tracking, no alert, nothing watching.

At Rebookify, we watch every refundable reservation an agency manages and send a notification the moment a lower rate appears on the same hotel, room, and dates.

Booking is getting more automated everywhere. Someone still has to watch what happens after.
